Thermowells (TLSW)

TLSW1
Thermowells play a crucial role as protective instruments for primary sensing components such as RTD's and thermocouples. Their purpose is to facilitate temperature control, recording, and monitoring across a range of processes.
Constructed as the standard from SS316/L material, thermowells can also be crafted from alternative materials upon request. The selection of the appropriate thermowell material for a particular installation hinges on the prevailing corrosion conditions to which the thermowell will be exposed. In some cases, the chief consideration is mechanical strength, with corrosion resistance assuming a secondary role.
One specific model, known as TLSW1, functions as a versatile metal protection tube. This model features a threaded process and a welded-on adaptor for thermometer connection. The measurement termed as the immersion length (U) pertains to the distance from the heat-exposed end of the thermowell to the bottom of the thread or other corresponding connection point. To ensure accurate readings, the immersion length should be adequately sized, allowing the entirety of the temperature-sensitive section of the thermometer bulb or thermocouple element to extend into the medium whose temperature is being gauged. For thermocouples with short sensitive portions, thermowells featuring shorter immersion lengths are suitable. On the other hand, resistance (RTD) thermometers encompass sensitive portions ranging between 25 to 50 mm in length.
